History of Schiedel Construction Incorporated

You can’t build a great project without a good foundation. We invite you to take a moment to find out about our “foundation”, by learning about our history.

In 1949 George Schiedel established Schiedel Concrete and Steel Farm Construction. Hard work, ingenuity, and resourcefulness allowed the company to expand into a handful of employees and it quickly became Schiedel Construction Ltd. in 1951.

1951 through 1975 saw Schiedel Construction become a leading force in the Waterloo region construction industry by building churches, schools, and medical facilities. Then in 1975 the company became involved in the design-build method of construction which has been very successful for the Schiedel’s business.

In 1982 George’s sons Fred and Phil came on board and the company became Schiedel Construction Incorporated. They quickly harnessed the design-build industry and the company’s demographics grew as projects were built throughout Southwestern Ontario.

Over the past 60 years Schiedel Construction has helped many companies and communities grow and they appreciate the quality of their experience. Today, Fred Schiedel as President, Phil Schiedel as Secretary, Allen Schiedel as Architectural Designer, and Eric Freeman as Operations Manager lead a crew of 40 employees as they embrace new challenges and venture through the 21st century.
