History of Schiedel Construction Incorporated

History of Schiedel Construction Incorporated

At Schiedel Construction Incorporated, we believe that a great project cannot be built without a good foundation. This is why we take great pride in the foundation that binds us and drives us to do better each day.

In 1949, George Schiedel established Schiedel Concrete and Steel Farm Construction. Hard work, ingenuity, and resourcefulness allowed the company to expand into a handful of employees, and it quickly became Schiedel Construction Ltd. in 1951. From 1951 to 1975, the company became a leading force in the construction industry of the Waterloo region. We were building churches, schools, and medical facilities. In 1975, the company became involved in the design-build method of construction, which has been very successful for the Schiedel business.

In 1982, George’s sons Fred and Phil came on board, and the company became Schiedel Construction Incorporated. They quickly harnessed the design-build industry, and the company’s demographics grew as projects were built throughout Southwestern Ontario.

Over the past sixty years, Schiedel Construction Incorporated has helped many companies, and communities grow and they appreciate the quality of their experience. Today, Fred Schiedel as President, Phil Schiedel as Secretary, Allen Schiedel as Architectural Designer, and Eric Freeman as Operations Manager lead a crew of forty employees as they embrace new challenges and venture through the 21st century.
